This is a rare opportunity for new graduates to join a modern private practice setting that places a strong emphasis on evidence-based clinical training with individuals, couples, and families seeking outpatient therapy. In this setting, postdoctoral fellows receive ongoing supervision and mentorship from psychological experts in their respective specialties, all of whom firmly believe that diversity drives excellence. Moreover, the practice itself reflects the cultural and ethnic richness of the city in which it resides, operating with a clear mission to advance and revolutionize mental health care by focusing on the unique and evolving needs of residents of New York City. As part of their professional development, fellows will have the opportunity to train in at least two of four clinical tracks: the Gottman Method for couples therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

In addition to core clinical training, fellows will receive specialized instruction in a wide range of areas related to delivering services within a private practice setting, including trauma-focused evaluation and treatment. Furthermore, trauma-focused training will specifically address the treatment of trauma stemming from identity-related stressors. Beyond this, fellows will gain experience in promoting mental health and providing education within organizational and educational settings. They will also receive dedicated training in addressing sexuality- and gender-related issues within psychotherapy, thereby broadening their clinical competence and cultural responsiveness.

Throughout the fellowship year, fellows participate in weekly individual and group supervision, case conferences, and professional development seminars. Collectively, these experiences provide intensive training on the fellows’ own cases while also offering valuable opportunities to observe how senior clinicians navigate challenges encountered when implementing and adapting evidence-based practices to meet the diverse needs of their clients.
